Prof. Dr. Till Strohsal
Prof. Dr. Till Strohsal has been a professor of economic policy at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR Berlin) and a lecturer at Freie Universität Berlin since 2023. Previously, he worked as an economist at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and at the Federal Chancellery, where he focused in particular on economic forecasts and economic policy issues.
His research focuses on empirical macroeconomics, particularly in the areas of inflation and monetary policy, as well as business and financial cycles. Methodologically, he primarily uses time series and spectral analysis techniques. A current research focus is the study of global supply chain disruptions and their impact on price trends in Europe.
As an associate member of the Research Competence Centre, Till Strohsal brings a macroeconomic perspective to global supply and value chains. The focus is on how disruptions in international supply chains are transmitted along the price chain from import prices through producer prices to consumer prices, and what macroeconomic consequences result from this.
